Tis Grace is Needed ✽ Grace Alone

When darkness falls, the road grows dim,
And all around is dread of sin,
Hope and confidence becomes small and few.
Yet when Christ the Savior draws and cleanses,
'Tis at this moment, grace shines through.

When confidence runs sure and deep,
Self assurances cause grateful hearts to sleep,
And blinded hearts turn from the throne-
His mercy piercing through the shroud convinces,
Tis grace is needed; grace alone.

Through paths of sunshine, moon or shadow,
whether broken heart or joy defines the hour;
Christ's sacrifice, his love, free gift to me
Of righteousness, undeserved, on me bestowed,
Makes grace my only, worthy, lifelong plea.

"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no man may boast." -Ephesians 2:8-9
