Thankful Thursday ✽ Little Things

We've had a busy day cleaning the house, but I wanted to take a minute and count my blessings and share a few glimpses of our life this past week :)...

Josiah has always loved to "play piano" <3. When he was Noah's age, I used to sit him on my lap while I played lead sheets in the key of C... haha. Nothing fancy, and so when I am asked if I could play piano, I always truthfully answer, eh, not really. Mama shared a picture of those sweet moments one time, and our "adopted Grandpa" in the Friendship Choir leaned forward one rehearsal, and told me, "I saw you playing that piano with that baby. Now you have to play for us someday." I don't think he believed me, haha... But, given that, I find it adorable that now Josiah plays with Noah <3.

Joe "Cool Guy" Siah helping the big people with some projects :).

I love this little face, with it's messy curly hair and sweet little nose!!!

Today I am thankful for the little moments...

time change, because I honestly love this schedule, sorry to those of you who don't, haha - Noah patting me and asking if I can pick him up - and calling up to me from the bottom of the stairs to ask if he can have m&m's for absolutely no reason, heehee - working on a bible reading schedule with some of my siblings, and being able to discuss what is happening "now" with the younger ones - Josiah asking me to come snuggle him before he goes to sleep - the feel of a warm cup in my hands in the early morning - putting pen to paper again, because for the past several months I've either been too overwhelmed or too busy to write, and now it's such a joy to bring it back - giving people nicknames as a form of affection - crossing items off my to-do list that has gotten far too long in the past couple months - Josiah, manly man that he may be, still climbing up for some snuggles like the little guy that he is - late night laughter with my sisters - Andrew's quirky grin when he knows I'm being a goose, but he doesn't want to discourage me - evening texts from dear friends - songs that encourage one in the Lord - Noah's sweet little voice singing along to a hymn  - seeing Peter becoming a little artist - the little boys in their matching pjs - answers to prayer - a family that will be there for me through thick and thin - reading through the bible and noticing little details I've missed so many times before... there is always something to learn - dear friends sharing their words of encouragement with others - being able to sit down and thank the Lord for all this and so much more on a otherwise hectic day <3.

Happy Thursday! What did you do today? What are you thankful for :)? What is your opinion on the autumn time change?

  1. Hi Bri!

I am thankful for a lot of things today: thankful that I am getting to learn sign language, thankful for my little sisters and the things they say :) (sometimes they say the funniest, cutest things in such a no-sense practical way. :) ) thankful for sweet blogger's like you, and thankful for grace. I think it's so wonderful that we are not under the law anymore. I like the time change. :)
Do you know any other languages?

    Love
    Ashley

    1. Ashleyyyyyyy <3. You are such a sweet soul <3!!! *I* am thankful for such sweet blog readers as you! How old are your sisters? I literally can not be thankful enough for getting to be involved in my siblings lives, because they are the best cuddlers and comedians, hahaha!
I know basic sign language... I'm planning on learning it fully, because I work/ want to work more with special needs individuals, and often if they do not have language comprehension/speech capability, they can still have the motor control to sign their needs, so I think that will help me further down the road :).
      Blessings,
      Bri

    2. By the way, Ashley, I forgot to mention the other day - you DO need a printer to ship from home, but not to use calculated shipping. But if you do ship from home, you can re-print the label if the first one doesn't work; you don't have to pay for one each time you print it! I meant to add that the other day, because you had mentioned your printer can have issues :).
      Blessings,
      Bri :)

    3. Hi Bri! That's neat you know some sign language. I'm praying about becoming an ASL interpreter.
My little sisters are 16 and 13. My older sister is at college....and if I have to go away to college to get some degree, I'm going to miss out on watching my littlest sister become an older teenager...I just wish I could stay home with them forever and they would stay young! :D

Much love and many hugs to you,
      Ashley

ps. Thank you for clarifying that about the calculated shipping.

    4. That is so neat Ashley! I think that is a really neat need to fill, especially in church. We went to a church one time that had a ASL interpreter, even though there was only one deaf guy there, haha, but I thought it was really sweet of her to make that commitment!
That is so fun <3! I know what you mean... but I'm thankful for the time we have together! And four sisters is so fun... When Abbi was born, we were so excited that we could pretend to be the Ingalls or March families ;).
And you are welcome about the calculated shipping! Sorry I forgot that!
      Love,
      Bri

  2. I love your Thankful Thursday posts!
I've spent the morning cleaning the house also and I decided to take a small break! ;)
I'm thankful for: going hiking with friends, sweater weather, phone calls from my bestie, and the sky.

It's nice to have a clean house, isn't it?! It's just so much work sometimes, haha! I definitely took a couple of breaks yesterday here and there, haha!
Wonderful things to be thankful for <3. Thank you for sharing!
      Blessings,

  3. I am guessing that a lot of the names mentioned are your brothers and sisters. I read the mini bio under your picture and was in shock when I read 8 siblings! That's a lot! But I can imagine that it's lots of fun!

The little things are really wonderful! Nicknames out of affection are some of my favorite!

Thanks for leaving your blog link on the comment on my blog! I love checking out more blogs!
